PosseAfter trying out pretty much every lube out there I am back to White Lighting Clean Ride (for mountain biking). I ride in some dusty, dry, sandy conditions and my chain is always clean, smooth, and quiet.
I shake bottle well, lube about every other ride (about 2-3 hard hours per ride), let it dry, and wipe off excess (otherwise wax will start building up). This results on a very clean chain to which no debris attaches to :-)
However, it does not hold well on wet conditions. If I encounter wet conditions in the trail, once I am done with the ride I will dry the chain and apply more White Lighting, as a hard ride in the rain will wipe the wax clean leaving your chain unprotected.
I also used to apply it to my road/tri bikes, but after consistently getting caught in the rain during the long 100m rides, I switched to a wet lube PROGOLD ProLink, which is nowhere close as clean, but will keep your chain well lubed even after 100 miles in the rain.
