White Lightning Clean Ride Lube sets up as a dry wax film. White Lightning Clean Ride's self-cleaning action works by small particles of the outer wax structure flaking off taking dirt, grit, and grime with it. When Clean Ride is used regularly chain cleaning is rarely required. White Lightning recommends Clean Ride for dirty and dusty conditions.
Works best when beginning with a clean chain
For optimal self-cleaning performance, lube should not be mixed with an oil-based lubricant
Due to self-cleaning action, a more frequent application is required after dirty rides.

After trying out pretty much every lube out there I am back to White Lighting Clean Ride (for mountain biking). I ride in some dusty, dry, sandy conditions and my chain is always clean, smooth, and quiet.
I shake bottle well, lube about every other ride (about 2-3 hard hours per ride), let it dry, and wipe off excess (otherwise wax will start building up). This results on a very clean chain to which no debris attaches to :-)
However, it does not hold well on wet conditions. If I encounter wet conditions in the trail, once I am done with the ride I will dry the chain and apply more White Lighting, as a hard ride in the rain will wipe the wax clean leaving your chain unprotected.
I also used to apply it to my road/tri bikes, but after consistently getting caught in the rain during the long 100m rides, I switched to a wet lube PROGOLD ProLink, which is nowhere close as clean, but will keep your chain well lubed even after 100 miles in the rain.
Summed up: Very CLEAN drivetrain (if properly applied), very good protection, but not lasting under wet conditions
Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Great Chain Lube for wet east coast riding. Most of the other chain lubes I have used have caked up with even more dirt while riding and just become a hassle to clean off. This wax based lube has been able to avoid chain suck on long even after extended periods of not cleaning the chain and passing though deeper than expected mud puddles.
