When
Shimano released their
11-speed drivetrain they included the capability for their derailleurs to go from a 36t max on the 10-speed version to a max cog of 40t. This is still 2 teeth less than what is offered by the SRAM X1 derailleurs and sometimes you need those 2 teeth and the people at
Wolf Tooth want you to have them so they created the
Goatlink.
Currently the
Wolf Tooth Goatlink is compatible with
Shimano XTR M9000 and
XT M8000 rear derailleurs that mount the traditional way, if you have a direct mount frame you are currently out of luck. The
Goatlink replaces the stock
Shimano hanger attachment and extends the derailleur geometry to work with 10-42t, 10-44t, 11-45t and 11-46t combinations. The latest installation notes and compatibility can be found
here.
The
Wolf Tooth Goatlink 11 can only be used in a 1x set-up, sorry there currently isn't any support to make a mega range triple.
- Works with XTR M900 and XT M8000 derailleurs
- Doesn''t work with direct mount native frames
- For 1x drivetrains only
- Compatible with 10-42t, 10-44t, 11-45t, 11-46t rear cassettes
If you need additional range with your Shimano 1x drivetrain, the
Goatlink holds the key to hill climbing glory.
