These are the Yokozuna Brake Pad Inserts featuring Scott-Mathauser Generation-X Compounds. These brake shoes have set the standard in braking performance for decades. The Salmon Pads are more of an all-weather pad, and provide excellent performance compared to other all-weather pads which tend to be very abrasive. The Black Pads simply have a little less stopping power but a little more life and modulation in them. Simply put, the Black Pads are a bit more casual for situations that are not as demanding as those that would require the Salmon Pads.
